… and to join with you so that together we may serve God and others as long as we both shall live.
                                      — Dann and Nancy’s marriage vows

When we spoke those words to each other, we had no idea that ten years later we would be called to full time service with International Teams. Over the years God has provided additional opportunities such as foster care and Awana. Our commitment to International Teams is as strong as ever.

However…there will be a third trip to Ghana!

As you may recall, Nancy has been privileged to travel to Ghana twice, helping with the school library, spending time with the kids at the Love and Care Orphanage, and building relationships. To learn more about Two Pennies Ministry (TPM), check them out at
www.Facebook.com/TwoPenniesMinistry/.

TPM, through our local church, is returning to Africa March 24, and this time both Dann and Nancy are going. Dann plans to help set up computers in the library which TPM began and partner with the teachers, students and pastors in using technology. Nancy’s plans are still being defined. We are more excited than ever to be part of this journey. We are filled with a certainty that this is where God is leading us and are grateful that we can serve God together.

Please prayerfully consider whether you would be part of our support team for this trip. We hope for friends who will pray for this ten-day Journey. Of ultimate importance is building relationships with the people God places in our path.  We also pray that our team (nine of us) will be guided by God’s grace, wisdom, and compassion, and be empowered by His strength to accomplish the work set out before us. We also need to raise financial support for this trip. May the power of God’s gift of salvation through Jesus Christ be known and accepted!

Will you join us?

Enclosed are a response card and a return envelope for your use. If you are writing a check, please write “Two Pennies Ministry” in the note, but please DO NOT write our names on it anywhere. Your gift will go entirely towards the cost of our trip.

In Christ,

Dann and Nancy

Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21

Dear Friend,

For the last five years, the members of the Two Pennies Ministry at First Baptist Church have been laboring to reflect Christ’s love to the world around us. Our ministry has been working with people in Ghana and the Lord has taken us on a whirlwind journey. He has used us to begin a poultry farm, run a soccer clinic, supply a school system with thousands of books, host a medical clinic, build a church, train teachers, begin a farm and construct an orphanage.

Our mission at the Two Pennies Ministry is To reflect Christ through our love, service and sacrifice. On each successive Journey, we have been deepening relationships in an effort to create disciples and enrich lives. We understand that this is not a one time experience, but one that takes years to nurture.

This March we will be continuing to minister to the people of Ghana. We are planning to work with undertrained and under-resourced teachers, host another pastor’s conference, finish work on a library, get a piggery started and spend some quality time with the children at the Love and Care orphanage. Many people that are planning on going on this trip have been to Ghana before and are excited about returning to continue the work that we’ve begun. There will also be several new faces to provide some special skills.

Those of us going on the trip know that we cannot do this alone. Spiritually we need people willing to support us in prayer. We know that Christ tells us that “all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26) and also, “Truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” (Matthew 18:19-20). We would love for each person going to have a team of people supporting them in prayer back home. The financial cost of the Journey will also be substantial. Each person going will need to raise $2,200 for the trip. For most of us this is a considerable amount of money and fundraising is done by each individual. If you feel God’s leading to support an individual, know that the funds will be used in the best possible manner – to spread Christ’s Love to the farthest reaches of the globe.
So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.  (Ephesians 4:11&12)
